Gethsemane Lutheran Church

News: January, 17th, 2022

Dear Gethsemane CornerStone Member,

As you may have heard, our congregation was selected by ELCA churchwide to participate in a 2 year "think tank" initiative called Congregations LEAD.  You may have heard about this over the last few weeks during our announcements after services.

As a "cornerstone" member of Gethsemane (one who has been a member here for longer than 3 years) your input is valued as we discern our next steps forward as a congregation.  The Holy Spirit continues to call us with new faces, new member families and new mission; our focus is always on where God is calling us next.

We invite you to join us for a one hour "coffee talk" after service on Sunday, January 23rd.  We will meet in the social room.  Where this meeting is open to any "cornerstone folks", your name has been lifted up as one who we hope will join us.

We understand that there may be some strong feelings shared during this meeting; we offer this covenant to ensure that all are openly heard in a comfortable place on Sunday: To work together in relationship and compassion, striving to understand other people and their beliefs even when they differ from our own; to listen more than speak; to meet people where they are not where we want them to be, and to do this work in and about our community.  We will do this work in the confidence of one another, holding each other’s voices in confidence.

Please call the office or email office@gethsemane-elca.org to let us know that you will join us.

Thank you so much!

The Congregations LEAD team:

Heidi Ebben, Peter Johnson, Beth Kraft, Travis Kraft, Adam Marek, Heather Marek, Pastor Perrie
